DEADBOTS: THE INTERVIEW.

He’ from Dublin. She’s from Vancouver. They are the Deadbots, for us the cooltest electro band in this time.

D.K.:

This is a special interview for me. I love Deadbots and their music. So Nina, Paul, thanks a lot for you courtesy!

First question: when did you meet? And, when you become Deadbots?

NINA:

HEY DK!! > THANKS FOR THE WORDS ;)

We met in 2005 in Vancouver and in 2007 we started DEADBOTS.

D.K.:

Your music has a lot of influences from different genres. And it sounds so chic. What is your recipe for mixing all these flavours in the right way?

PAUL:

We both love all kinds of music. Especially older stuff. Nina loves The Rolling Stones, Billy Idol, David Bowie, Stevie Nicks. I love everything from disco to death metal. It all comes together somehow and we hope people enjoy something about it.

D.K.:

I wathced a video on youtube where Nina sings using the Kaoss Pad to process her own voice in real time. Sounds like fun! Do you use it often?

NINA:

I used to use it all the time for live shows to effect my vocals. It's really just a live show thing and yes, loads of fun.

But recently we've changed things up. :)

D.K.:

Do you have a studio where you produce your music? And what hardware or software do you use most?

PAUL: 

Yeah we have a studio. Lots of analog bits and pieces that change constantly. All the hardware is kept in sync with Ableton.

D.K.:

Girl on fire. It’s really amazing. The idea behind the video is simple but extremely cool, it seems to reflect your attitude, is it right?

DEADBOTS:

Thanks. Yeah we really like the track too. We had lots of diverse remixes on the EP too which was very cool. We really wanted to see how a director would interperet a video for the track. The awesome Danxzen and his team put the video together and we loved it. There's no hidden message in the track. It's just a fun, slightly risky video for a fun track.

D.K.:

What sohuld we expect from Deadbots in the near future? Live, release, one album…what?

NINA:

We just finished a collaboration with Sharam Jey and also we're remixing the track too. I hear some other great remixers on board too. We'll keep you posted :)

Also we're working on a track with Distraktt and are preparing 2 new EP's and a new music video is in the works. We can't say much more right now but we will for sure keep you updated when we can :)

D.K.:

D.K.:

Questa per me è un'intervista speciale. Amo i Deadbots e la loro musica. Perciò, Nina, Paul, grazie mille per la vostra disponibilità!

Prima domanda: quando vi siete incontrati? E quando siete diventati i Deadbots?

NINA:

Ehy DK!! Grazie per le belle parole!

Ci siamo conosciuti nel 2005 e siamo diventati i Deadbots nel 2007.

D.K.:

La vostra musica è piena di influenze da diversi generi musicali. E suona molto chic. Qual è la vostra ricetta per miscelare tutti questi sapori nella maniera corretta?

PAUL:

Entrambi amiamo tutti i tipi di musica. Specialmente roba vecchia. NIna ama Rolling Stones, Billy Idol, David Bowie, Stevie Nics. Io amo tutto dalla disco al death metal. Mettiamo tutto insieme e speriamo che alla gente piaccia qualcosa di quello che facciamo. 

D.K.:

Ho visto un video su youtube in cui Nina usa il Kaoss Pad per processare la sua voce in tempo reale. Sembra divertente! Lo usate spesso?

NINA:

L'ho usato durante tutti i live per effettare la mia voce. E' davvero adatto ai live e si, è molto divertente!

Ma ultimamente abbiamo un po' cambiato le cose. :)

D.K.:

Possedete uno studio in cui producete la vostra roba? E quali hardware e software utilizzate?

PAUL:

Si abbiamo uno studio. Molta roba analogica e pezzi che cambiano in continuazione. Tutto l'hardware è tenuto in sincrono con Ableton. 

D.K.:

Girl on fire. E' davvero stupefacente. L'idea alla base del video è semplice ma estremamente cool, e sembra riflettere la vostra attitudine, è giusto? 

DEADBOTS:

Grazie. Si la traccia ci piace davvero molto. Ci sono diversi remix molto belli anche sull'ep. Eravamo davvero curiosi di vedere come un regista avrebbe interpretato il pezzo. Danxzen è stato impressionante e con il suo team hanno realizzato questo lavoro insieme e l'abbiamo subito amato. Non c'è nessun messaggio nascosto nella traccia. L'intenzione era divertire, ed il video è un po' rischioso per una traccia divertente. 

D.K.:

Cosa dobbiamo aspettarci in futuro dai Deadbots? Live, release, un album...cosa?

NINA:

Stiamo ultimando una collaborazione con Sharam Jey e stiamo anche preparando il remix della traccia. E ho sentito di altri bei remix: Te li posteremo! :)

Stiamo anche lavorando ad una traccia con Distraktte stiamo preparando due nuovi EP, ed è in lavorazione anche un nuovo video. 

Non possiamo aggiungere troppo altro ma ci terremo aggiornati appena possibile! :)

D.K.:
